Introduction
By default, Peplink devices are secured with credentials printed on the label. When receiving and/or deploying these devices it is a good idea to change the basic credentials of the device along with limiting who can even access the management interfaces/web pages.
What Devices Will This Work On?
This guide is designed for Peplink Balance, MAX, and FusionHub devices. Many of these settings will also work with wireless APs and SD Switches, but there are additional settings that are not covered in this guide for those devices.
Why Should I Do This?
Many reasons! Security is important and not something to be ignored. If you're a home / residential user, think of all of the things you do online and the devices that will be connected to this network.
If you're a business user, you may be required to. In one example, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requires you do this if you're processing card data on your network. Now, this isn't a guide that ensures you're PCI DSS-compliant, but the things in here are a part of the requirements for becoming compliant.
